'Cooking too hard': Aussie star's pre-Masters injury

Rising Aussie golf star Min Woo Lee will play The Masters despite breaking his finger in the gym last week.

The 25-year-old revealed the injury when speaking to media after playing a practice round at Augusta National this week alongside countrymen Adam Scott, Jason Day, and Cameron Smith.

Lee was rated a $71 chance to win golf’s flagship event with Australian bookmaker Sportsbet on Wednesday morning – but it’s unknown whether his broken digit was factored into those odds.

“So I went to the doctor and I thought it was OK because I could move it. It was just red. I thought it would be fine. Then they came in and said, ‘you’ve broken it’.”

Lee has also been battling a flu, but will take his place in the 89-player Masters field when the tournament begins Thursday night (AEST).

Here’s everything you need to know about the 2024 Masters.

The first players will walk to the tee on Thursday night (AEST) and play will continue throughout the night.

The first round will conclude some time between 9am and 10am on Friday.
