The Head of State receives a phone call from Bill Gates, during which they discuss enhancing humanitarian cooperation
Abu Dhabi, April 11 / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, received today a phone call from Bill Gates, Co-Chairman of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, during which he congratulated His Highness on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr, wishing His Highness Good health and happiness, and further development and prosperity for the UAE and its people.
During the call, His Highness and Bill Gates discussed continuing to strengthen joint cooperation in confronting epidemic diseases in the world, such as “polio,” and the advanced qualitative results achieved in this field during the recent period, in addition to the importance of intensifying international efforts to help the most needy communities in eliminating diseases. Which hinders their development, progress and improvement of their lives.
The call also addressed the importance of the historic results of the twenty-eighth session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), which was hosted by the UAE at the end of last year and resulted in the “Historic UAE Agreement”… It represented an exceptional milestone in advancing joint climate action and accelerating global efforts to confront climate change.
