The ‘promiscuous’ truth about Australia that nobody saw coming: ‘We are animals!’

Australians are some of the most sexually active people on the planet, with a study placing the nation second behind the Turks.

According to research put together by the World Population Review, Aussies aged between 25 and 44 are likely to have, on average, 13.3 lifetime sexual partners.

This number puts people from Down Under well ahead of those from the US who ranked 12th in the study with 10.7 partners.

New Zealand sat in third place with an average of 13.2 sexual partners, while those in the UK have an average of 9.8.

The average number of sexual partners globally is nine.

Australians are some of the most sexually active people on the planet, with a study placing the nation second behind the Turks

The data only surveyed opposite-sex partners, and was collected in 2021 by the CDC.

The ABC reported the number of sexual partners per person is actually decreasing – with interest waning in favour of their phones.

University of Southern Queensland clinical psychologist Daniel Brown said Australians are having less sex than they used to.

According the psychologist Aussies used to have sex twice a week on average – this number has fallen to 1.5 times per week.

He said younger Australians are also starting their sexual experiences later.

While those behind the report admitted the data was limited, Australians were quick to weigh in on it.

‘They didn’t interview anyone from the Eastern Suburbs,’ one man laughed.

‘So long as it’s consensual, they practice safe sex and no one’s doing it behind their partner’s back unknowingly, it shouldn’t matter all that much what people do in the bedroom,’ one man said.

‘Time to get busy everyone, let’s make it to number one,’ said another.

Some revealed where they sat within the data pool.

‘Damn I am well below average then,’ one man laughed.

‘Always knew I was an above average performer,’ said another.

However some couldn’t help but wonder if there was data missing.

‘Weak. In Eastern Europe, these numbers have an extra zero. Study is flawed,’ one woman said.

‘Australians were the second biggest liars more like,’ said another.

‘Remove the decimal point make it 133 partners and you’d be closer,’ said one man.

With many arguing the number would better suit sexual partners per month for younger, single, people and per year for the older end of the bracket.

Others laughed and said they wish they had ‘a choice of their phone’ when they were younger.

‘Wouldn’t have had the pressure of buying them Red Rooster,’ she said.
