The UAE Show Jumping Championship begins tomorrow at Boutheib Academy

Abu Dhabi, April 11 / WAM / The activities of the 25th edition of the UAE Show Jumping Championship will begin tomorrow at the Sultan Bin Zayed Grand Hall at the Boudheib Equestrian Academy in Al Khatm area in Abu Dhabi.

In the championship, male and female showjumping riders of all categories, as well as young jumping horses aged 5, 6 and 7 years, will compete in 23 rounds.

The competitions will be held over a period of three days, from April 12 to 14, under the supervision of the Emirates Equestrian and Racing Federation, sponsored by Longines, sponsor of the UAE Show Jumping League, and with the support of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, with a total prize pool of 715 thousand dirhams.

The first day begins with the UAE Championship competitions for young jumping horses, 5 years old, born in 2019, and 6 years old, born in 2018, in the categories of young riders, beginners, advanced level (3), and second level riders.

The first competition for the Federation Cup and the “Emirates Championship” competitions for the first-level riders category will also be held, all with one-round specifications, and their results are carried over to the second and third days of the tournament.

Saturday will witness the final of the cubs category, which consists of one round on hurdles of 110 cm, the final of the beginners’ advanced level (3), of two rounds on hurdles of 115 cm, and the final of the riders of the second level, of two rounds on hurdles of 120 cm.

The second competition for the Federation Cup will be held in two rounds on hurdles with a height of 130 cm, and the rest of the titles will be completed on the third day of the tournament next Sunday, and all its competitions are according to the specifications of the two rounds, except for the beginners’ competition in one round on hurdles of 110 cm.

The final will be held for young horses aged 5 years over 115 cm hurdles, 6 years old over 125 cm hurdles, then 7 years old, born in 2017, over 130 cm hurdles, and the “Junior” category riders over 130 cm hurdles, and the young riders category over 135 cm hurdles, and it concludes. The UAE Championship for first-level riders on hurdles with a height of 145 cm, and its prizes are (300) thousand dirhams.

The Emirates Equestrian Federation is represented and follows up on the progress of the competitions and participations by Hossam Zamit, Head of the Jumping Department. The international judging panel is chaired by Khalil Ibrahim, with the assistance of 5 international arbitrators. The championship fields and the movement of the riders and horses are supervised by the international Ali Mohajer, with the assistance of 4 international supervisors.
