Urgent…The Minister of Agriculture announces the opening of Moroccan markets for potatoes and Canadian markets for strawberries

      

In implementation of the directives of the political leadership to open new markets for Egyptian agricultural exports to support the national economy with foreign currency reserves 

 

Mr. Al-Qasir, Minister of Agriculture, announced And land reclamation to open the Kingdom of Morocco’s markets to potatoes  Egyptian and Canadian markets in front of strawberries, within the framework of the efforts made by the Ministry to open new international markets in front of Egyptian agricultural products. This came based on a report received by “Al-Quseir” From Dr. Saad Moussa, Supervisor of the Egyptian Agricultural Quarantine, reports the quarantine’s success in opening the Moroccan market to Egyptian potatoes, as the Moroccan agricultural authorities (ONSSA) notified the Egyptian Agricultural Quarantine of officially approving the opening of the Moroccan market to Egypt’s agricultural exports of potatoes, and actually starting exports.  

 

The report also reported the success of the quarantine in opening the Canadian market to Egypt’s exports of fresh strawberries for the first time, as all procedures for opening Canada’s markets to strawberry exports were completed and all Technical requirements for the Canadian side, which enhances the agricultural sector’s contribution to the Egyptian national income, and the necessary measures are being taken to continue opening other international markets to agricultural products.   It is worth noting that Mr. Al-Quseir, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, had announced that Egyptian agricultural exports exceeded 2.2 million tons of agricultural products worth about 1.5 billion dollars during the first quarter of this year, an increase of 300 million. dollars for the same period of the previous year, despite global and regional conditions that affect supply chains, as well as the Egyptian state stopping the export of some agricultural products to support the local market. It is also worth noting that agricultural exports are currently the second largest source of Egyptian national income in terms of foreign exchange, according to To the report of the General Authority for Control of Exports and Imports at the Ministry of Trade and Industry.
