Pennsylvania Taco Bell manager Becky Arbaugh saves baby’s life at Bucks County drive-thru

RICHBORO, Pa. — A Taco Bell manager in Richboro, Pennsylvania, is being hailed as a hero after she sprang into action to save a baby’s life.

Natasha Long said she had just picked up a prescription at a local pharmacy with her 11-month-old son Myles when she decided to stop by Taco Bell on Saturday to pick up some food.

When he entered the drive-thru, Long said he heard baby Myles struggling to breathe, so he immediately exited the vehicle to check on him.

“I ran out of the car, ran and opened the car door,” Long said. “I took him out and he turned completely blue and lifeless. At that point I completely passed out. I didn’t know what to do.”

Long says he started screaming in panic. Her cries for help were heard by Taco Bell manager Becky Arbaugh, who stopped everything she was doing to help once she realized how serious the situation was.

“I threw my headphones away and ran,” Arbaugh said. “I picked up the baby and started doing chest compressions and he finally started breathing.”

Long said it was like a guardian angel appeared out of nowhere to help Myles start breathing again.

Arbaugh, who is a mother of two, said she is no guardian angel. However, she said she was able to remain calm throughout because one of her daughters had a similar experience years ago.

She said that incident prepared her for a crisis like the one that fell into her lap.

“When my kids were little, my daughter had a similar incident, so I knew what she was feeling,” Arbaugh said. “She knew that if she kept her calm and stayed calm, she didn’t have any thoughts that the baby was not going to breathe again.”

It is unclear what caused his difficulty breathing.

The next day, Long said he made sure to call Taco Bell so he could talk to Arbaugh and tell him how much he appreciated his actions.

“We couldn’t be more grateful to Becky,” Long said. “She saved my son’s life.”

Although if you ask Arbaugh, she’ll tell you she’s no hero. She said she did what anyone would have done in that situation.

“I just thought of myself as a mother with a mother who needed help,” Arbaugh said.

Long and Arbaugh said they have been in contact daily since Saturday, and Arbaugh even offered to sit at the hospital with baby Myles so his parents could have a little time to themselves.

Both said it was the beginning of a bond that will stand the test of time.
