The Palestinian President expresses his deep appreciation for President Sisi and Egypt’s firm positions towards the Palestinian issue
The President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, met today, Friday, with the editors-in-chief of Egyptian newspapers and a number of senior Egyptian writers and journalists, on the sidelines of his visit to Cairo, to participate in the opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday.
The Palestinian President briefed the editors-in-chief, writers, and journalists on the latest developments in the Palestinian arena, and the political developments in light of the continuing Israeli escalation against the Palestinian people, both in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Occupied Jerusalem.
The Palestinian President touched on the difficult humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip, and the importance of continuing efforts to establish a ceasefire, the continued entry of aid, going for reconstruction, and preventing displacement and annexation.
He also briefed them on the violations of the Israeli occupation and the terrorism of the colonizers, and their continued aggression against the Palestinian people and their property in various cities, towns and villages of the West Bank, including occupied Jerusalem, and their continued violations against Islamic sanctities. And Christianity.
During the meeting, he stressed the importance of the Arab role, especially the Egyptian one, in supporting the Palestinian cause and protecting the legitimate national rights of the Palestinian people.
The President expressed his great appreciation for His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and for the firm positions of Egypt’s leadership, government and people towards the Palestinian issue, and its continued support for achieving a just and comprehensive peace based on international legitimacy resolutions, preventing displacement, and providing humanitarian aid.
The President praised The responsible role played by the Egyptian media in conveying the suffering of the Palestinian people to Arab and international public opinion, stressing that it was and remains an essential partner in defending our national rights, appreciating the commitment of Egyptian journalists and media professionals, their positions and their continuous efforts in enhancing awareness of the Palestinian issue among the peoples of the world.
For their part, Egyptian editors-in-chief and writers affirmed their full support for the rights of the Palestinian people, praising the efforts of President Mahmoud Abbas in preserving the constants. Patriotism, striving towards achieving Palestinian national unity, and ending the Israeli occupation.
