The National Operations Room for Human Rights monitors and documents the electoral process for the House of Representatives

The National Council for Human Rights began the activities of the first day of work of the Special Operations Room to follow up on the 2025 House of Representatives elections and to continue the follow-up of Egyptians abroad, headed by Ambassador Mahmoud Karem, and with the membership of Abdel-Gawad Ahmed, a member of the Council and supervisor of the Chamber’s work, and Council members Dina Khalil and Mahmoud Bassiouni, and a number of researchers concerned with following up on the progress of the electoral process, with the follow-up of Dr. Hani Ibrahim, Secretary-General of the Council.

The Chamber follows up on the course of the electoral process in the various governorates through teams. A specialized field field, along with an internal team for monitoring and documentation, with the aim of ensuring accurate and reliable coverage that enhances transparency and supports respect for international standards in following up on elections.

Ambassador Mahmoud Karem stressed that the launch of the Chamber’s work comes within the framework of the Council’s national role in supporting the democratic process and ensuring the integrity of the elections, noting that the Chamber is working on a serious and transparent follow-up of all voting events, in a way that reflects respect for the will of voters and the protection of their constitutional rights.

He added that the Council seeks, through specialized follow-up teams, to provide An accurate and impartial reading of what is happening in the field, and an analysis of the various developments to ensure that the electoral process proceeds according to the highest standards of integrity, transparency and human rights, stressing that the primary goal is to enhance public confidence in the elections and support the path of democracy in Egypt.

Abdul-Gawad Ahmed indicated that the follow-up teams present in the various governorates are working to monitor the opening of the committees, the progress of the poll, and document any observations immediately, in a way that ensures the neutrality and credibility of the information, adding that the direct presence of our followers on the ground allows the Council to provide an evaluation. It is objective and reliable for the conduct of the electoral process, and contributes to protecting the rights of voters and promoting the principle of transparency, which is the basis of any integrated democratic system.

The supervisor of the elections room indicated that the Council places as its top priority following up on all the minute details of the electoral process, to ensure that it is conducted in accordance with the highest standards of integrity, and to maintain societal trust in electoral institutions, in a way that supports effective and sustainable political participation.
