Is This $3000 Pilates Reformer Better Than a Studio Membership? I Tried It To Find Out

I’ll be honest: I’m a Pilates girlie through and through.

The cute fits? Colour-coordinating my Pilates socks with my water bottle? The feeling of simply being better than everyone around me? Yeah, it’s kinda my whole schtick.

My struggle, however, comes from the fact that I barely have a spare second to shut my eyes at the end of the night, let alone block out a whole two hours from start to finish (including my commute) just to work out.

With that being said, when I had the chance to trial a Your Reformer for three months, I immediately jumped at it. A reformer that I could use at home with a built-in app to support, and I could say bye-bye to all the commuting time? I was immediately sold.

(They’ve also got a pretty sweet Black Friday deal going on RN, but more on that later).

Without further ado, here’s the TL;DR.

The Quality! Oh My!

Before I even get into anything else, I need to talk to the quality of this reformer for a sec.

This was truly studio-level quality. I’m talking the reformer you’d use at a boutique studio that charges half my weekly paycheck. The torque was smooth, the straps were sturdy, and I didn’t feel like I was on a bumpy-and-totally-not-fun rollercoaster the entire time. Winning!

Plus, it came with props galore. The Prop Starter Kit that comes along with the reformer (or can be purchased for $69), includes a Pilates ring, two one kilogram dumbbells and a squishy ball. I didn’t even realise the joys of a squishy ball when it comes to an absolute core burner until I had it at my disposal 24/7. The more you know!

The App Itself

Okay, I need to be honest here. I didn’t really use the app throughout my time with this beauty.

I know, I know, I should’ve. But honestly, I’ve been a reformer queen for years now, and it sorta feels like second nature to me. Besides, I was most excited to actually have a real-life reformer in my house, and the app just felt like a lil’ bonus.

That being said, I did have a play around, and it was pretty sick. It’s super intuitive, and there’s heaps of different options for varying fitness levels and preferences. There was even a 30-day beginner course for people who are new to reformer, which I thought was a lovely little addition to help bridge the divide for newbies.

My Motivation Had Never Been Higher

Honestly, the extra 40 minutes I saved in the morning from getting up, getting ready, and driving to my studio was a godsend.

I found it so easy to pretty much roll out of bed, chug a glass of water, and jump straight onto my reformer. Half the time, I didn’t even get changed. Once you start working out in your pyjamas in the privacy of your own home, you might never go back.

Your Reformer Black Friday Sale

From one reformer girlie to another: this is a game changer. I had a mighty fine time working out in my PJs every morning, and I couldn’t recommend this enough.

Honestly, the only downside to the Your Reformer is the price. This thing ain’t cheap. At $2,995 (currently on sale for $2,795), you need to be sure that it’s a worthy investment. If you know you’re going to use it, it’s definitely worth it, especially with how easily the cost of Pilates memberships rack up. But if it’s going to sit in your spare room, gathering dust, it probably isn’t for you.

That being said, Your Reformer is doing a pretty sweet Black Friday sale — as in, up to $1,243 off sweet.

There’s up to $400 off reformers, and a whoooole lot of free goodies and Pilates accessories to go alongside your new reformer. All of the reformer models are $200 off, but if you decide to go for the Walnut or Winter White colourways, you score $400 off, instead.

Along with your reformer, you’ll also get the following (for free!!!):

  • Free Jumpboard and Box (valued at $349)
  • Free Prop Starter Kit (valued at $69)
  • Three months free YR App access (valued at $62.97)
  • Free valet delivery (valued at $99)
  • Prop Starter Kit (valued at $69)
  • Curved Weighted Bands (valued at $59)
  • Booty Band Coastal Set (valued at $29)
  • July Everyday Large Tote (valued at $175)

That’s an additional $911.97 of free shit. IDK about you, but that sounds like a damn good deal to me.

The sale is already live, and it runs until December 4, so you’ve got some time to deliberate and decide if you want to become an at-home Pilates princess.

If you’re wanting to streamline your workouts and feel like you can do it all (quite literally my life mission), I reckon this is a good shout. Try it out and thank me later.
