England hit by first injury withdrawal ahead of Albania and Serbia double-header – with Chelsea star set to be called up

Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi is expected to withdraw from England’s squad after picking up an injury in the Europa Conference League on Thursday. 

The 25-year-old picked up a knock in the dying embers of the Eagles’ clash with AZ Alkmaar and later hobbled away from Selhurst Park on crutches. 

Oliver Glasner ruled him out of Palace’s derby against Brighton on Sunday, admitting ‘he can’t even walk’, and now Guehi looks set to pull out of his country’s squad for their World Cup Qualifiers against Albania and Serbia.
