The Foreign Minister discusses development projects with the German Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development

He met Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Affairs of Egyptians Abroad, on Monday, the first of December, with Reem El-Abali Radovan, German Minister of Economic Cooperation and Development.

 

Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that Minister Abdel-Aty praised the distinguished bilateral relations between Egypt and Germany in various fields, and praised the constructive role played by Germany in supporting development projects in Egypt, especially since Germany is one of Egypt’s most important development partners. He expressed his aspiration for further development cooperation between the two countries.

 

 In this context, he welcomed the results of the governmental negotiations between Egypt and Germany in the field of development held in Berlin on November 17, which aimed to implement development projects in Egypt.

 

The Minister of Foreign Affairs also expressed appreciation for the existing cooperation with Germany in the field of labor transfer and the efforts made by the Egyptian-German Center for Jobs and Immigration, Pointing out that cooperation in this field represents a good opportunity to achieve mutual benefit between the two countries.

 

The official spokesman added that Minister Abdel Ati briefed the German official on the latest developments in the Gaza Strip, reviewing the efforts made to host the Early Recovery and Reconstruction Conference.

 

 In this context, he indicated the keenness for German effective participation in the conference, highlighting the vital role it plays. UNRWA agency And the need to continue funding it, stressing that its role cannot be dispensed with or replaced.

 

During the meeting, the Foreign Minister discussed the many opportunities for tripartite cooperation between Egypt and Germany on the African continent, especially in the areas of development and water resources management.

 

 He also referred to the support provided by Egypt in the fields of energy and development, and its prominent role in supporting peace and security in The continent. 

 

Minister Abdel-Aty expressed his aspiration to enhance cooperation between the two sides in Africa, including through the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Preservation and Peacebuilding. 

 

He was also keen to inform the German Minister of the most prominent features of the Suez and Red Sea StREAM initiative, noting the initiative’s aims of linking economic and development frameworks. The meeting also touched on developments in Sudan, where Minister Abdel Ati condemned the grave violations witnessed in the El Fasher region, and reviewed the role played by Egypt within the framework of the Quartet Mechanism to stop the conflict and preserve the unity and integrity of the Sudanese state.

 

 He also stressed the need for concerted international efforts to stop the fire and provide Safe corridors to ensure the entry of humanitarian aid, stressing the keenness to facilitate the entry of aid in coordination with international institutions and the international community in this regard.
