The Prime Minister is following the executive position of efforts to confront infringements and protect the course of the Nile River

Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, followed up on the executive position of efforts to confront infringements and protect the course of the Nile River, in a meeting held today, in the presence of Dr. Hani Sweilem, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, Acting Minister of the Environment, Major General Sherif Raouf, Assistant Minister of the Interior for the Security Sector, and a number of officials.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly thanked the Ministry of Interior, And its agencies in the governorates, to support the efforts of government agencies in implementing decisions to remove illegal encroachments on both sides of the Nile River course, and to provide the necessary support, stressing that effective coordination between the relevant authorities is a major guarantee for dealing with the issue of encroachments and putting a final end to it, to preserve the state’s capabilities.
The Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation presented the latest developments in the executive position of the national project to control the Nile River, indicating that this project comes within the framework of the strategic vision of the Egyptian state to preserve the Nile River, The lifeline, protecting water resources and ensuring their sustainability, and emphasizing its vital role in achieving water security and sustainable development.
Councilor Mohamed Al-Homsani, the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, stated that the meeting witnessed a review of the position of efforts to remove encroachments on both sides of the course of the Nile River, to protect the course and preserve our water capabilities, as all such encroachments are removed according to urgent precedence.
In this regard, the position of restricting encroachments along the course of the river was reviewed. The Nile and its two branches, and the status of the progress of the work of removing these encroachments in various governorates, including the removal of cases of violating construction, the removal of backfilling works in the watercourse, and the identification of river management lines in the field.
