Egypt condemns in the strongest terms the attacks on the headquarters of the United Nations peacekeeping mission in Sudan

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Egypt followed with great concern the events in South Kordofan State and the shameful attacks on the headquarters of the United Nations peacekeeping mission for the Abyei area in the city of Kadugli, which resulted in the killing of six Bangladeshi soldiers and the wounding of 8 others in bombing by marches. Egypt condemns in the strongest terms these attacks, which constitute a flagrant violation of the principles of international law, and offers sincere condolences to the families of the victims and the government and people of Bangladesh.
Egypt reiterates that Its call for an immediate ceasefire to enable a serious humanitarian response from all parties of the international community to enhance the access of humanitarian aid, provide safe havens for displaced people fleeing the scourge of war, and reach a comprehensive political solution led by the Sudanese people.
