"Muslim sages" Strongly condemns the establishment of 19 settlements in the occupied West Bank by the Israeli occupation
The Council of Muslim Elders, headed by His Eminence the Grand Imam A. D. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, strongly expressed the Israeli occupation government’s approval of the establishment and legalization of 19 settlements in the occupied West Bank.
The Council of Muslim Elders affirmed in a statement its categorical rejection of such provocative practices, which aim to change the legal and historical situation in the occupied Palestinian territory and represent a dangerous escalation and a flagrant violation of international legitimacy resolutions, and an undermining of efforts aimed at achieving peace. The Council of Muslim Elders renewed its call on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities to end the suffering of the Palestinian people that has continued for more than 7 decades, and to recognize the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with Holy Jerusalem as its capital.
