The Michigan Wolverines are reportedly targeting Utah coach Kyle Whittingham to replace the disgraced Sherrone Moore.
Married father-of-three Moore, 39, was taken into custody earlier this month after allegedly entering a woman’s apartment, confronting her and threatening to kill himself.
Police records show the incident took place at the home of his executive assistant Paige Shiver, hours after Michigan had fired Moore over an ‘inappropriate relationship’ with a staff member.
Now, according to ESPN, Whittingham is the ‘focus’ of Michigan’s search and a deal could be finalized in the near future.
A proposed move for the Utah coach will reportedly be shared with Michigan chiefs on Friday.
Whittingham, 66, spent more than two decades with the Utes before it was announced earlier this month that he would step down.
