
Fremantle has unveiled first look images of “The Season,” a glossy Hong Kong-set drama that PCCW Media has produced alongside SK Global, the outfit behind “Crazy Rich Asians,” “Thai Cave Rescue” and “Delhi Crime.”

The six-episode English-language series will bow this summer on Viu as a Viu Original, reaching audiences across Asia, the Middle East and South Africa, while U.S. viewers will be able to catch it on Hulu. Fremantle is handling international sales with support from De Maio Entertainment.

The show centers on an established social circle whose idyllic boating season is upended when a young outsider enters their world. As the summer unfolds, hidden secrets come to light, alliances shift and personal ambitions begin to reshape relationships in unexpected ways.

The cast brings together Jessie Mei Li (“Shadow and Bone”), three-time Golden Horse winner Karena Lam, Chris Pang (“Interior Chinatown”), Justin Chien (“The Brothers Sun”), Yvonne Chapman (“Avatar: The Last Airbender”), Celina Jade (“Wolf Warrior 2”) and Toby Stephens (“Percy Jackson and the Olympians”). Rounding out the ensemble are Kōki, recipient of the Rising Star of Asia Award 2025, Lee Jae-yoon (“Physical 100 S2”) and “King Maker” winner Lyman Heung, with Hong Kong stars Anson Lo of Mirror and Marf Yau of Collar making special appearances.

Yalun Tu, who co-created the Prime Video Japan series “My Undead Yokai Girlfriend” and has credits on “NCIS: Hawaii” and “Wu Assassins,” serves as creator and executive producer. Chilean director Marialy Rivas (“The Jetty”) leads the directing team and also executive produces. Janice Lee and Agatha Lo executive produce for PCCW Media, with Chloe Dan, Matt Aragachi and Dylan Tarason filling the same role for SK Global.
