Iran-US war latest: Trump blames Iran for strike on girls’ school as Israel bombards targets in Tehran and Beirut

President Donald Trump claimed that Iran was responsible for an airstrike that hit an elementary school in the city of Minab and killed more than 150 children.
“In my opinion, based on what I’ve seen, that was done by Iran,” he said on Saturday after attending a ceremony for the dignified transfer of six US soldiers killed in the Middle East.
“They have no accuracy whatsoever,” Trump added, referring to the Iranian forces. The president’s claims are at odds with reports that US military investigators believe American forces are probably responsible for the strike. Neither the US nor Israel has taken responsibility for the attack so far.
The US and Israeli forces, meanwhile, struck oil storage depots and refining facilities in Tehran for the first time overnight, sparking large fires across the Iranian capital. They had previously attacked a desalination plant on the island of Qeshm, reportedly disrupting water supplies to some 30 villages in the Hormozgan province.
Israeli forces also attacked a hotel in Beirut, killing four people and wounding 10. Iran promptly launched retaliatory strikes against Israel and US assets in the region, according to state media.
