Taliban use tear gas to break up women’s demonstrations in Kabul

Afghan Amaj News Agency reported on Twitter that Taliban supporters used tear gas against protesters in Kabul.

According to the source, Afghan women protested their legal rights, and the Taliban used tear gas to disperse the demonstrators.

After coming to power in Afghanistan, the Taliban imposed a number of restrictions on women. Where, they abolished the Ministry of Women’s Affairs, and instead created the Ministry of Islamic Call, Guidance, Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice.
The Taliban also restricted girls’ access to schools in most Afghan provinces, required television presenters to wear headscarves, and advised local television channels to refrain from showing films depicting women. It also became known that the Taliban banned the treatment of unaccompanied women.
