The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, represented by the Central Administration for Land Protection, revealed that 412 cases of encroachment on agricultural lands in the various governorates had been removed during the past week.
This comes in implementation of the directives and assignments of Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, to intensify efforts to protect the agricultural area, and under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Essam, Head of the Agricultural Services and Follow-up Sector, by continuing traffic and field follow-up campaigns and monitoring any cases. To encroach on agricultural lands and remove them in the cradle before they escalate.
For his part, Dr. Hossam Rashid, head of the Central Department for Land Protection, indicated the intensification of the administration’s efforts, in coordination with the agricultural directorates in the governorates and the heads of their land protection departments, to inspect and follow up on any cases of encroachment on agricultural lands, and to coordinate with local government agencies and security agencies, to take immediate and urgent measures towards Remove them.
Rashid explained that committees of engineers from the Central Administration for Land Protection had been formed for field follow-up in the governorates, to follow up on the implementation of campaigns to remove encroachments, as well as follow up on the measures taken against the encroachers.
He added that, through these committees, field follow-up went to 8 governorates: Gharbia, Beheira, Ismailia, Fayoum, Alexandria, Dakahlia, Sohag, and Qena, indicating that traffic and follow-up operations continue periodically and intensively to ensure immediate deterrence of any attempted infringement in the cradle, and to take the necessary measures against it, stressing that the state will never tolerate any violations aimed at encroaching on the agricultural area that represents a national wealth.
The Ministry of Agriculture calls on citizens to cooperate fully with the state’s efforts to protect its agricultural lands, stressing that the ministry will continue to implement the law in full. Firmness and transparency, and that any new infringement attempt will be faced with immediate removal and legal measures will be taken against its perpetrators.
