For nearly two decades, the Kindle has been transforming the way people read, offering a compact, convenient and travel-friendly solution to lugging around large and heavy books.

Now, 17 years on from the initial launch, the newest Kindle is now finally available on Amazon Australia and it boasts an upgrade that shoppers have been excited for.

The new Kindle Colorsoft range has launched to Aussie customers, after the products went on sale late last year in America.

The Colorsoft is the first Kindle with a colour display and the product has been racking up rave reviews from happy customers who are thrilled with the upgrade.

‘Colorsoft for the win,’ one shopper wrote along with a five star review. Another labelled the product a ‘BIG upgrade’ from the original black and white version.

There are two options: The Kindle Colorsoft boasts 16GB of memory, while the Colorsoft Signature Edition has 32GB of storage but both units allow users to read in colour thanks to the high contrast Colorsoft display.

The updated ereader boasts paper-like colour to bring book covers and images to life and the display and you have the option to highlight favourite pages or sections in yellow, orange, blue and pink.

The Colorsoft Kindle also boasts great battery power with a single charge lasting up to eight weeks and there is also a wireless charging dock you can purchase to make charing even easier.

Perfect for travelling, the device is also waterproof so there is no need to worry about taking it by the pool, using it at the beach or reading in the bath.

Whether you’re reading in the brightest sunshine or in the dark of the night, the Colorsoft has an auto adjusting front light, as well as a glare-free display for the ultimate reading experience.

The updated devices have been well received by Aussie customers and has quickly attracted over 150 reviews

One happy shopper shared: ‘I love the my new Colorsoft so much. It’s fast, easy to use and the colours are gorgeous.’

The Scribe acts as a Kindle and a notebook and comes with a premium pen which allows the user to write directly onto book pages or journal away.

Customers love it because it feels like ‘writing on paper’ and the device has handy AI tools to help summarise notes or plan to do lists.

Despite the innovations and the product offerings the most compact Kindle is still incredibly popular and has over 10,000 reviews on the platform.
