On the occasion of the visit of Lieutenant General / Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, Chairman of the Sudanese Transitional Sovereign Council, to the Arab Republic of Egypt, Egypt issued a statement in which it reiterated its full support for the vision of US President Donald Trump, to achieve security, stability and peace in Sudan, within the framework of President Trump’s approach to bringing peace, avoiding escalation and settling disputes in various parts of the world.
The statement said that Egypt is following with great concern the continuation of The current state of escalation and extreme tension in Sudan, and the horrific massacres and blatant violations of the most basic human rights rules against Sudanese civilians, especially in El Fasher.
Egypt stressed in its statement that there are red lines that cannot be crossed or tolerated, considering that this directly affects Egyptian national security, which is directly linked to Sudanese national security.
Egypt also stressed that maintaining unity Sudan, its territorial integrity, and not tampering with its capabilities and the capabilities of the Sudanese people are one of the most important of these red lines, including not allowing the secession of any part of Sudan’s territory.
In the same context, Egypt renewed its categorical rejection of establishing or recognizing any parallel entities, considering that this affects the unity and territorial integrity of Sudan.
Egypt stressed in its statement that Preserving Sudanese state institutions and preventing harm to these institutions is another red line for Egypt, and Egypt affirms its full right to take all necessary measures and procedures guaranteed by international law and the joint defense agreement between the two brotherly countries to ensure that these red lines are not violated or crossed.
Finally, Egypt renewed its full commitment to continuing work within the framework of the International Quartet with the aim of reaching a humanitarian truce, leading to a ceasefire, which includes the establishment of safe humanitarian havens and corridors to provide security and protection for Sudanese civilians, in full coordination with Sudanese state institutions.
