Ryan Murphy has officially lifted the curtain on American Horror Story season 13, gifting us a truly mind-blowing cast and — in classic AHS fashion — more questions than answers.

Here’s everything you need to know about the next chapter of TV’s freakiest anthology.
Who’s in the cast of American Horror Story season 13?
Brace yourself: the season 13 lineup reads like AHS’s own version of a Marvel team-up, with Ariana Grande joining franchise regulars Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, Leslie Grossman, and, yes, the queen herself, Jessica Lange.
Lange’s return is wild considering she very publicly ruled out ever coming back in February, telling media: “Christ, no.” Yet, here she is and we are grateful for it.
For Grande, this isn’t her first rodeo with Murphy — she dipped her toe into the bloody waters back on Scream Queens. Safe to say: the ensemble is stacked.
What will season 13 of American Horror Story be about?
Official plot warnings are as cryptic as a season finale, but there are some tasty clues. Most signs point to a return to Coven and Apocalypse territory, thanks to the cast returning and the not-so-subtle Halloween 2026 premiere date.
The Instagram reveal even dusted off Madison Montgomery’s catchphrase: “Surprise, bitch. I bet you thought you’d seen the last of me,” sending fans into a theory spiral.

Expect supernatural drama, witchy antics and maybe a new spin on the Antichrist mythos — but nothing is officially confirmed yet.
Is this the last season of American Horror Story?
Short answer: nobody knows for sure, but don’t uncork the embalming fluid just yet. FX confirmed the show through season 13 back in 2020.
While there’s endless speculation that this could be the end — especially since Murphy is stepping back from day-to-day showrunner duties — the network hasn’t closed the coffin for good.

FX’s execs say the show “can always be rebooted” if a killer idea hits. “When Ryan has an idea that is great and can figure it out with his schedule of all the things that he’s doing, I could very well see us doing another installment,” exec Eric Shrier told Deadline in May this year.
So even if season 13 is a wild finale, there’s a chance for more seasons… in some twisted form.
Is there a trailer for American Horror Story season 13?
At this point, there’s no official trailer. The announcement came via a dramatic Instagram video that basically just listed names, blasted Vera Lynn’s “I’ll Be Seeing You”, and promised us nightmares.
There’s also been no behind-the-scenes footage or classic AHS cryptic teasers. Watch this space for any drops — if Murphy’s past marketing stunts are anything to go by, something strange should hit socials by early 2026.
When is American Horror Story season 13 being released?
Take note: AHS season 13 is set to premiere on Halloween, 31 October 2026. That means you’ve got a full year to brush up on your Coven lore, binge-watch Apocalypse, and start researching period-appropriate witch hats.
The season will air on FX in the US and stream via platforms tied to 20th Television. There’s no official word on Aussie streaming sites yet, but previous seasons have landed on Binge and Foxtel just after the US debut, so expect much the same.
