Ashes rival lashes state of MCG pitch
Welcome to our day two coverage of the Boxing Day Ashes Test

Updated:
Former England batsman Kevin Pietersen had a long-running battle with the Australian Test side – and the general public – during his playing days.
Now he has taken aim at the state of the MCG pitch that saw 20 wickets fall on day of the Boxing Day Test
Chaos reigned on day one of the Boxing Day Test, with 20 wickets tumbling before Scott Boland survived one torrid final over to see out the day as nightwatchman.
Australia will open today batting with a lead of 46, a handsome advantage considering the difficulties both sides had batting yesterday.
One thing seems certain, the draw is almost surely off the table. Australia is either going to press its advantage to lead 4-0, or England is going to get one back to save a bit of face after a disastrous tour.
