Atlanta Falcons fire head coach Raheem Morris and GM Terry Fontenot in ruthless clear out after dismal season

The Atlanta Falcons have fired head coach Raheem Morris and GM Terry Fontenot in a sweeping clear out after they missed the playoffs once again.
Morris was in charge for two seasons and the Falcons finished 8-9 and failed to make the postseason in both.
Despite another underwhelming year, the Falcons finished the season with a fourth straight win when they defeated the New Orleans Saints 19-17 on Sunday.
The Falcons finished in a three-way tie with Carolina and Tampa Bay for first place in the NFC South but the Panthers won the tiebreaker with the best record within the division.
Star players Drake London and Bijan Robinson both suggested after the Saints game that they wanted Morris to stay but billionaire owner Arthur Blank has acted.
Fontenot has been the franchise’s GM since 2021. During that time the Falcons have never finished with a winning record with 36 wins and 48 losses.
