Aussies lose their minds at major Coles news: ‘I’ve been waiting for this my whole life’

Australian shoppers are going wild after a series of cryptic online hints all but confirmed that one of Britain’s most beloved sweets will finally hit local supermarket shelves in November.

For years, desperate fans have relied on overpriced imports, international relatives, or limited-edition dupes that sell out in hours.

But now, the real deal Percy Pigs are finally making their Aussie debut.

‘The rumours are true,’ a spokesperson for Coles exclusively told Daily Mail.

‘The iconic the Percy Pig and Colin the Caterpillar are coming to Australia for the very first time.’

Shoppers first took note on November 13, when the official Percy Pig Instagram account posted a mysterious update, teasing that Percy and Colin (the Caterpillar) were about to set off on a new adventure Down Under.

‘It’s somewhere I’ve been dreaming about, and we’ve finally packed our bags! Get ready to stock up on your favourite Percy and Colin sweets!’ the post read, sending British expats and lolly lovers into meltdown.

Moments later, the online chatter exploded when popular viral food blogger Nectro Vlangos dropped a bombshell on Facebook, all but confirming the launch.

‘Not me literally just getting my mum to send a suitcase of Percy Pigs over and THEN I see this!?’ wrote another.

Others were already dreaming even bigger, with one hopeful shopper declaring that they hoped the entire Mark’s & Spencer sweet range make the move to Australia.

‘Yeah, Percy Pigs at last!’ was a common thread.

Marks & Spencer’s Percy Pigs have long been considered the holy grail of UK confectionery soft, fruity, chewy, and impossible to find in Australia without spending a fortune.

Until now, Aussie fans have relied on ‘dupe’ versions like Aldi’s pig-shaped Katja gummies ($7.99), which sparked supermarket stampedes and sold out within hours

Until now, fans have been forced to settle for ‘dupe’ versions, including Aldi’s wildly popular Katja Biggetjes & Kokindjes gummies, which triggered supermarket stampedes when they hit shelves for a second time in July this year.

The pig-shaped treats were dubbed the closest thing Aussies could get to the real deal and consistently sold out in hours.

‘Last year I bought six or so packets to last the year,’ one loyal shopper previously admitted.

‘I always stock up with several bags then get sad when I eat them all like the pig I am and wish I got more,’ another joked.

Now though, for the first time ever, fans may finally be able to buy authentic Percy Pigs and Colin the Caterpillar gummy sweets at their local Coles.

‘Yay! Waiting for Colin the caterpillar cakes now,’ commented another.

One can dream.
