Beau Ryan Drops Major Update On Amazing Race Australia 2026

Put down your pitchforks and cancel your protest: Beau Ryan has shared a huge update on The Amazing Race Australia after Channel 10 confirmed it won’t be back in 2026.

While the reality show’s upcoming 10th season was originally scheduled to air later this year, a spokesperson from the network confirmed to PEDESTRIAN.TV on Thursday that “it will not be a part of our 2026 program schedule”.

“We’ve been working on another brilliant new season of The Amazing Race Australia, but due to several factors, including travel logistics, it will not be part of our 2026 program schedule,” they told P.TV.

The network added that the series “is a huge show to plan, produce and shoot”, but said it had only been “rested”, not cancelled.

When is The Amazing Race Australia returning?

Following the announcement and subsequent outrage from fans, Ryan shared an exciting update on Friday morning. The long-running host revealed that the series will be returning in 2027 and will likely be filmed at the end of this year.

The Amazing Race is coming back in 2027. We just don’t know when we’re going to film it!” he said on Triple M Breakfast with Beau, Cat & Woodsy.

“We were going to push it back to later in the year, but the later you go, the longer it takes to edit it and put it all together. Paramount made the decision that we won’t air it this year. It gives us a bit more time to spend longer over there, do it right, get all the planning and visas and casting done correctly, so we might go later this year.”

Ryan added that he was told “about a week ago” that filming for the new season would start in March, so the cancellation was only a recent decision.

“[Filming] was only five to six weeks away and it was happening very quickly,” he explained. “It’s a big show with a lot of moving parts. It takes six to 12 months to plan and prepare for. People were working on visas and casting people… and it was going to be tight.”

The new season is expected to be another celebrity edition, so fingers crossed the extra time allows them to cast some big names. Personally, I’d love to see Abbie Chatfield and Adam Hyde take on the challenge or MAFS couple Jacqui Burfoot and Clint Rice travel around the world, but after experiencing the fear of the show’s cancellation, I’ll take what I can get.
