California State University Fullerton is mourning the loss of two 19-year-old students who died just one week apart, leaving the campus community devastated.
Destiny Morris, a member of the Titans Dance Team and Zeta Tau Alpha sorority, passed away on November 14, according to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. Her cause of death has not been disclosed.
Friends and teammates described Morris as a dedicated student who ‘dreamed of making the Dance Team’ and proudly achieved that goal.
She was remembered as a source of light and inspiration by her sorority sisters and dance family.
The university plans to honor Morris with a moment of silence before the men’s basketball Big West Conference home opener against Cal Poly on December 4.
A public celebration of life will be held on November 30 at By Your Side Dance Studio in Marina del Rey, where Morris grew up dancing.
Her death comes just one week after the passing of Lauren Turner, a sophomore soccer player who died on November 7 after weeks in intensive care.
Turner suffered severe head trauma in a September 27 crash when she and teammate Ashlyn Gwynn were struck by a box truck while riding electric scooters on their way to attend a men’s soccer game.

The accident occurred on Associated Road near Yorba Linda Boulevard.
Police say the driver of the Ford Econoline E350 who hit Turner and Gwynn remained at the scene and was cooperative.
Fullerton police said drugs and alcohol were not factors, and no arrests have been made.
It is unclear whether the two students were wearing helmets at the time of the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
Her parents confirmed her death in a statement posted to the GoFundMe.
‘Early this morning, our sweet Lauren fell asleep in the Lord. Our hearts are broken, and our family is forever changed. We will miss her beyond measure, yet we take great comfort in knowing she is now in the loving embrace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,’ the statement read.

Gwynn was also critically injured but has since been moved out of the ICU.
The Titan women’s soccer team honored their teammates throughout the season with custom wristbands bearing their initials and jersey numbers, ‘LT5-AG7.’
A candlelight vigil for Turner was held at the campus soccer stadium on November 12.
Fullerton finished its season in the Big West Conference tournament, defeating CSU Bakersfield in the quarterfinals before falling to Cal Poly in the semifinals.
