Boisson is trying hard. She’s repeatedly asked to save break point as Pegula attempts to stay in the contest.

A drop shot forces Pegula to flick the ball too wide and it’s back to deuce again. The American is looking a little frazzled though still focused.

Boisson eventually gets to advantage after Pegula misses a sitter. Her backhand lands in the net and now it’s time for match point…

… After 10 minutes of playing in this game, Boisson serves to Pegula’s backhand. She meets the return then drills a forehand back down the line to leave Pegula wanting.

She wins the game, the set and the match!

Can Lois Boisson reach the French Open quarter-finals?

Her first serve goes down the T line but is a fault but she lands her second one in play. Boisson keeps the ball high to unsettle Pegula and it works as the American goes wide.

An attempted lob from Pegula is then lofted too long and Boisson moves 30-0 up.

The French woman’s composure slips slightly and Pegula takes advantage by winning the next three rallies.

Pegula attacks with a break point on the line but Boisson remains in the rally. She jabs at a return and the ball clips the tape beforee dropping onto he side of the net!

A tense hold from Boisson sets up the next stage of this set and match.

The crowd cheer every point that Boisson wins against Pegula especially when she edges ahead 15-30.

Pegula fights back to make it deuce and then rattles a volley from the net past her opponent.

The American can’t get over the line and the game swings away from her.

A rally of net play ends with Boisson setting up a break point but she’s too forceful with a forehand return and pumps it too long.

Another opportunity to break, Boisson’s fourth in the game, is finally taken!

Pegula smokes a forehand into the net. Boisson is serving for the match.

That draws her level in the set once again and the momeuntum that the French woman had built up has been broken.

Draper on friendship with Sinner

Jack Draper says he is proud of his friendship with Jannik Sinner but knows he is getting close to challenging him on court.

“I’m very happy to have him as a friend, but he’s now there, things are a little bit different,” Draper said.

“Of course, you know, we are very good friends off the court, but we practice a little bit less together, because we might know that we can face each other in the later stages of tournaments hopefully, because I always love to play against him.”
