Cheltenham Festival LIVE tips and results: White Noise wins Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle ahead of 2.00pm Novices’ Handicap

White Noise jockey Tom Bellamy, spoke to ITV after his victory in the opening race.

He said: “I’ve waited my whole life for this day. I can’t believe it, I’m speechless.

“I’m genuinely nearly crying here. I bunked off school to come and watch Cheltenham, now I can’t believe I’m here.”

A super run from Tom Bellamy and White Noise who timed their move beautifully on the home stretch to come through for the win.

Bambino Fever seemed to struggle but Oldschool Outlaw came through the pack and placed second for Gordon Elliott’s yard.

The field bunches up close as Place De Le Nation moves to the front, Bambino Fever has fallen away.

But here comes Oldschool Outlaw from the pack as White Noise finds another gear and takes to the front…

Paul Townend and Bambino Fever drop back and out of the top five with Full Of Life leading the way.

He’s followed by two horses, Chosen Comrade and White Noise who race alongside one another.

Kingston Queen and Place De Le Nation come forward as well to be in position.

White Noise and Chosen Comrade jostle from position with Bambino Fever also edging forward after a fast and skittish start.

Also in the hunt is Full Of Life who takes to the front and ups the tempo of the race.

There has been some real issues with the starts this week and it’s the same again here. A false start means the field have to trot back and reset

Bambino Fever sets off as the 10/11 favourite and is into second from the standing start just behind White Noise.

The horses have been paraded and are now making their way to the starting post. This looks set to be a cracking opener and the rain isn’t falling as hard either.

There’ll be some wind to contend with as evidenced by the ripples on the jockey’s shirts but it shouldn’t be too tasking for them.

Okay, who’s ready for the first of seven races taking place on day three of the Cheltenham Festival?

The Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle kicks things off with Bambino Fever the favourite for Willie Mullins.

Paul Townend rides him and he’d love to get another winner under his belt before the Ryanair Chase later today.
