Chiefs reporter turns on Taylor Swift fans after criticizing Travis Kelce for latest media snub

A Kansas City Chiefs reporter felt the wrath of Taylor Swift’s loyal fanbase on Sunday when he took a sly dig at her NFL fiance Travis Kelce.
Kelce and the Chiefs suffered yet another defeat on Sunday when they lost 26-9 to the 3-12 Tennessee Titans amid a nightmare season that has already seen them eliminated from playoff contention.
And amid the Chiefs’ woes, Kelce has often opted not to speak to reporters following defeats this season – something which Pete Mundo took aim at.
Mundo, who hosts KCMO’s Mundo in the Morning, appeared to criticize the tight end when he posted on X: ‘WILL TRAVIS KELCE TALK TO THE MEDIA AFTER THIS LOSS? -200 odds he passes, per usual, after a loss. Hope I’m wrong.’
The post swiftly sparked backlash with Mundo later claiming that the ‘Nasty Swifties found a post of mine again.’
‘He hardly had the ball, so shut up,’ one person responded. ‘Maybe [others] who played bad and had a hand in the game should speak. Why is he the only one you care about speaking, do you need his attention or something.’

Another wrote, ‘I don’t understand your priorities. Wouldn’t you want to hear from those who had an impact on the game? Coaches? Trav barely had looks today. There’s no story there.’
‘Grow TF up. What would you expect him to say, he was targeted 4x and only in the first half? I suggest the reporters speak to the coaching staff on the malpractice that was the scheme this game and how about holding them accountable for that utter disgrace,’ a third user furious posted.
‘It’s greeting a lil weird, bro. You seem obsessed. Whatever will you do when he retires,’ queried one, while another questioned: ‘WHAT WILL YOU ASK HIM ANYWAYS???’
Another added: ‘He barely got to play today. What do you want him to say? Talk to the 3rd string QB. Ask him if he is ready for the Broncos. Leave Travis be. That team forgot he is even there.’
‘still not making any of the necessary questions to the coaching staff? just looking for sound bites from kelce lol,’ chimed in one.
On user, who had a photo of Swift as their profile picture, wrote: ‘Same odds the reporters will ask anything of actual interest.’
‘What is your deal? There are others this game you should talk to. He only had 1 target. Have coaching staff and others be accountable for this dismal game,’ added another, who had a photo of Swift and Kelce’s engagement as their icon.
It does not appear that Kelce spoke to reporters in the locker room following the game, which saw third-string quarterback Chris Oladokun step up for the Chiefs after Patrick Mahomes’s backup Gardner Minshew was forced out with a leg injury.

Mahomes was ruled out for the remainder of the season after suffering a double ligament tear in his left knee the week prior.
Kelce had also refused to speak to reporters following Mahomes’s injury heartbreak, which occurred during Kansas City’s 16-13 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, sealing their playoff elimination.
In the wake of his actions, Chris Russo did not hold back when ripping into the 36-year-old for ghosting reporters while speaking on last week’s First Take.
‘I could care less about his stupid podcast, but how about Kelce on Sunday afternoon?’ Russo began, referencing Kelce’s reluctance to speak outside of his own platform.
‘They just lose the game, and Mahomes tears his ACL. The last play of the game, [Gardner] Minshew goes to Kelce to try to kick a field goal and gets intercepted.’
He continued: ‘Kelce, after he settles down in the locker room, says, ‘Not today, fellas, I’m not going to talk to you.’
Russo argued that Kelce abandoned his professional obligations to the beat reporters who have followed the team all season.
‘Hold on… time out! We got these poor guys who have been covering the Chiefs for years, who go to every training camp practice, every preseason game,’ Russo ranted.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Kelce’s close friend, tore his ACL during Week 15
‘Every day for seven months, they cover the football team, and you blow them off at the end of this game when they got Mahomes out, maybe the last game you’re ever going to play.
‘You can’t give them three words. You can’t give them, ‘Terrible day for us. I don’t know what I’m going to do with my career. Hope Pat will be OK’ when you’re walking out the door? You say, ‘Not today,’ and you don’t talk to the press.’
Russo continued by suggesting that Kelce was hoarding his thoughts for his own show, a strategy he dismissed with disdain.
‘Listen, I understand you got your brother, and you do the podcast. I get that. Maybe you want to save the exclusive news. But no serious sports fan listens to that nonsense anyway.
‘This is a situation here where it’s a Sunday afternoon, we want to hear from you. Mahomes is out for the year, you may not play again. The season’s over. You lost, and you’re not making the playoffs.
‘Walking off the field, you don’t talk to the press and get into the car, that is wrong! That is not the way to do things,’ Russo concluded.
‘Give them five minutes. Give them a couple sentences, for the Chiefs fan. Really down on him.’
