Collaboration between the National Research Institute and the Oil Crops Research Institute of the China Academy of Agricultural Sciences
Within the framework of the growing Egyptian-Chinese relations, and the keenness of both sides to enhance scientific and research cooperation, Prof. Dr. Mamdouh Moawad, President of the National Research Center, received Professor Zuhu Duyin, Vice President and Secretary of the Committee of the Science and Technology Association of Hubei Province, and his accompanying delegation, in order to discuss the prospects for joint cooperation and expanding the strategic partnership between the two parties.
During the visit, a letter of intent was signed between the center and the Oil Crops Research Institute of the China Academy of Agricultural Sciences, which includes a number of cooperation axes, the most important of which are the exchange of scientific visits between researchers from both sides, the application of modern agricultural techniques to improve the productivity of traditional and non-traditional oil crops, the evaluation of Chinese varieties of oil crops, especially sesame varieties suitable for mechanized cultivation, the preparation of joint research projects, the organization of conferences and workshops in the field of developing and improving the productivity of oil crops, and the strengthening of partnerships with seed companies. This meeting is a strategic step towards supporting regional and international cooperation in the field of scientific research, and reflects the center’s commitment to developing innovative solutions that support sustainable development goals in Egypt. The visit included discussing a number of topics, including: discussing opportunities to implement innovative research projects that meet the needs of the Egyptian and Chinese communities, discussing mechanisms for exchanging researchers and activating joint training programs, and studying the establishment of joint research laboratories in the fields of advanced materials and environmental sciences, in addition to expanding the scope of cooperation between the National Research Center and the leading universities and research centers in the province.
