Counselor Amal Ammar participates in activities "Contributing to building the future for girls and women" Within a program "Enable"

Counselor Amal Ammar, President of the National Council for Women, participated in the “Contributing to Building the Future for Girls and Women” activities, which come within the Egyptian Women’s Empowerment Programme, implemented in cooperation with the European Union, UNICEF Egypt, UN Women and the United Nations Population Fund.

 

The event was attended by a large number of leaders and experts, including Dr. Nisreen Al-Baghdadi, Vice President of the Council, and Ambassador Angelina Eichhorst. Head of the European Union delegation to Egypt and the League of Arab States, Dr. Abla Alfi, Deputy Minister of Population and Family Planning and President of the National Population Council, along with Elena Panova, United Nations Resident Coordinator, Representative Ahmed Fathi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Young Leaders Foundation, Natalia Winder Rossi, representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund, UNICEF in Egypt, Marwa Alameddine, Charge d’Affaires of the United Nations Women’s Office in Egypt, UN Women, and Eve Sassetrath, representative of the United Nations Population Fund, UNFPA.

He also participated in the event. The events were attended by a number of members of the National Council for Women, including Dr. Majed Othman, Dr. Essam Al-Adawi, Ambassador Wafaa Bassim, Dr. Salma Dawara, and Dr. Sharifa Sharif, in addition to Sherwat Ibrahim, Director General of the Council’s International Cooperation Department, Sherine Maher, Coordinator of the National Program for Empowering Girls, Engineer Jihan Tawfiq, Head of the Central Administration for Affairs of the Office of the Presidency of the Council, and Dr. Shaima Naeem, Director General of Strategic Management.

During the high-level dialogue with program partners. “Empowerment” Counselor Amal Ammar expressed her happiness with the cooperation with all partners and expressed her thanks and appreciation to the European Union, UNICEF Egypt, UN Women and the United Nations Population Fund, stressing that this cooperation is the foundation of what we have achieved today, noting the importance of investing in girls from 10 to 14 years old through the “Noura” program. Through intensive training on leadership skills, negotiation, time management, entrepreneurship, and life skills, in a way that enhances the building of a generation that is confident and capable of decision-making, which is in line with the vision of the Egyptian state that places girls and women at the heart of development plans.

Your Speaker of the Council also explained that the Egyptian state supported the empowerment of women and girls, noting the generous patronage of Mrs. Intisar al-Sisi, wife of the President of the Republic, for the National Framework for Investment in Girls through the Dowie Initiative and the Noura Program, adding the introduction of a program. “light” To be a parallel program for boys, to instill the values of respect for women and gender equality, stressing that real change requires the involvement of boys alongside girls.

The Chancellor expressed her aspiration to enhance joint cooperation with partners during the coming period, in order to achieve fair opportunities for girls and boys, thanking the Council team for their loyalty and efforts in making these initiatives a success.

For her part, Elena Panova indicated that girls and young people are the leaders of the future, stressing the efforts of the European Union and the United Nations for Women. UNICEF and the United Nations Population Fund to support various programs and empower girls and women, which contributes to building girls who are leaders for tomorrow.

Ambassador Angelina Eichhorst also stressed her pride in the European Union’s cooperation with the National Council for Women, stressing the necessity of supporting joint cooperation in the field of empowering women and girls, noting her appreciation for the role models of young men and women participating in various programs, as empowering girls is an important step to building a strong economy in partnership with Egypt, stressing her admiration for the activities provided to develop girls through the programs. Introduction.

During her tour, Counselor Amal Ammar inspected the exhibits of the “Empowerment” program. Which reviewed the “Dawy” initiative, the Republic School Leaders Program, and the “Noura” programs. And light” For girls and boys, the “She Leads” program in universities, in addition to the efforts of the units to combat violence against women in universities to protect female students from digital violence.
