On the sidelines of the Forum of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean and the Summit of Speakers of Parliaments, hosted by the Egyptian House of Representatives, Counselor Dr. Hanafi Gebali, Speaker of the House of Representatives, met with Angelo Farruga, Speaker of the Parliament of Malta.
Counselor Dr. Hanafi Gebali stressed the historical relations between Egypt and Malta and the points of rapprochement that unite the two friendly peoples, stressing the necessity of strengthening parliamentary cooperation, and also the necessity of raising The level of economic cooperation is commensurate with the level of distinguished political relations between the two countries. He expressed Egypt’s interest in expanding areas of cooperation to include cooperation in the field of renewable energy, wind electricity production, electrical connection, water desalination, construction and infrastructure, and Egypt’s appreciation for Malta’s recognition of the Palestinian state.
The Speaker of the Malta Parliament stressed the necessity of strengthening bilateral relations between Malta and Egypt at all levels, especially at the parliamentary level to suit the historical relations between them. The two friendly countries, stressing the need to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries.
