Egypt chairs the Communication and Transport Committee of the Arab Regional Working Group for Traveler Security and Information

In a new step added to the series of successes achieved by the civil aviation sector, and within the framework of the growing role of the Arab Republic of Egypt within regional and international organizations concerned with aviation security, the Arab Regional Working Group for Passenger Information and Security announced that Egypt would assume the presidency of the Communication and Transport Committee, in a step that reflects the confidence of the international community in the institutional competence and technical expertise of the Egyptian state, and with the participation of a high-level Egyptian delegation from the Ministry and relevant national authorities in the meeting hosted by the city of Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with the participation of nineteen Arab countries. And Africa.

The selection of navigator Sameh Mohamed Fawzi, Vice President of the Civil Aviation Authority, to head the committee came in a step that confirms Egypt’s position as a pivotal country in the region in the field of aviation security and passenger data management.

In this context, Dr. Sameh Al-Hafni, Minister of Civil Aviation, confirmed that Egypt’s assumption of the presidency of the committee represents an extension of the efforts made by the state in supporting aviation security and developing mechanisms for processing passenger data, explaining that the Ministry of Civil Aviation works according to an integrated legislative and technical system that guarantees adherence to international standards and protection of privacy.
