Experts discuss "What’s new in bone marrow transplant care" Population conference

The Ministry of Health and Population organized a dialogue session entitled “The Next Chapter in Bone Marrow Transplantation Care in Egypt” with the participation of the Ministry’s experts, oncology and marrow transplant centers, and representatives of pharmaceutical and health technology companies.

 

The session came within the activities of the third edition of the World Conference on Population, Health and Human Development (PHDC’25), sponsored by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, under the slogan “Empowering Individuals… Strengthening Progress.. Providing opportunities, during the period from November 12 to 15, 2025.

 

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the Ministry’s official spokesman, explained that the session focused on future development axes:

 

• Establishing a national registry to track transplant results and compare them between centers

 

• Standardization of clinical protocols and national quality standards

 

• Training cadres through continuing education programs and exchanging international experiences

 

• Expanding access to innovative treatments within national protocols

Discussions emphasized innovation in the management of post-transplant complications through digital technologies and artificial intelligence, to predict complications, raise recovery rates, and improve quality of life.

 

Dr. Maha Ibrahim, head of the Specialized Medical Secretariat, stressed that transformation requires an effective partnership between the public and private sectors, with the exchange of experiences and the integration of roles between academic and medical institutions, and pharmaceutical companies. And technology.

 

She indicated that innovation in patient data management and electronic follow-up increases efficiency and builds a knowledge base for future decisions, while transforming recommendations into implementation steps through specialized work teams for sustainable development.

 

Dr. Mohamed Latif, President of the Egyptian Health Council, explained the Council’s broad powers in medical specialties (doctors, dentists, pharmacists, veterinarians, nurses), while issuing national guidelines adapted to local capabilities and resources. Available.
