A Collingwood convoy left Southern Cross station in Melbourne this morning, carrying a couple of hundred of the Magpie faithful across Victoria and into South Australia for tonight’s qualifying final against the Crows.
Zac Thomas on board one of the Collingwood buses heading to Adelaide for Thursday’s qualifying final.
On board one of those buses (paid for in part by Collingwood) was supporter Zac Thomas, who said he had no trouble getting up for the early departure (the convoy left at 7.30am).
“Everyone’s up and about, excited for the game tonight,” he said at 10am.
“The energy started really high, especially at the station. Now everyone’s slowly relaxing.”
This bus trip is the first of its type for Zac, who will be back on the bus for the trip home when it leaves Adelaide after tonight’s match.
He’s prepared for any outcome.
“It’s going to be exciting if we win … I’m sure it will be quite sombre if we don’t. Sleep if we lose, party if we win,” he said.
But he describes himself as “strangely confident” of a Pies victory.
“I really feel we’re going to win,” he said.
“Not by much, by like a point or two… our experience will carry us through.”
