
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Affairs of Egyptians Abroad, Dr. Badr Abdel Aty, confirmed that Egyptian diplomacy represents one of the arms of the state’s comprehensive power and a major tool for strengthening its regional and international standing.
This came during the Foreign Minister’s reception, today, Monday, a group of students from the Faculty of Politics and Economics at Beni Suef University, within the framework of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ keenness to communicate with the youth of Egyptian universities, and enhance their awareness of foreign policy issues, and the role that the Egyptian state plays in the two arenas. Minister Abdel-Ati reviewed the determinants of Egyptian foreign policy and the constants on which it is based, pointing to the geopolitical challenges that Egypt faces in its regional environment, and the state’s keenness to follow the approach of strategic balance established by the President of the Republic, as a basic pillar of its foreign policy.
The meeting also dealt with the latest developments in the regional situation, as the Minister reviewed the Egyptian position regarding developments in the Gaza Strip, Sudan, and Libya, In addition to issues related to Egyptian water security, he stressed that the Egyptian moves aim to support security and stability, enhance opportunities for peace and development, and achieve common interests for the peoples of the region.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs explained the pivotal role played by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in defending national interests abroad, and conveying the true picture of the efforts of the Egyptian state in various fields.
