Health care operates two surgical and open-heart care units at Luxor Medical Complex

The General Health Care Authority, headed by Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, announced the operation of the open-heart surgery unit and the opening of specialized cardiac care at the International Medical Complex in Luxor Governorate, in a step considered the largest of its kind in Upper Egypt to localize one of the most complex and precise medical specialties.

 

 The head of the Health Care Authority explained that the unit’s equipment cost exceeded 45 million pounds, with a capacity of 14 care beds. A center equipped according to the highest international standards, which strengthens the authority’s ability to provide advanced services in Luxor Governorate and the South Upper Egypt region.

 

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobki confirmed that the operation of the new unit represents a strategic shift in the course of delicate specialized services, especially since open-heart surgeries are considered one of the most expensive medical interventions in the private sector, with their prices ranging between 200 and 500 thousand pounds, while It is provided by the comprehensive health insurance system of the highest quality without any financial burdens on the beneficiaries, with the exception of only 482 pounds as a contribution rate. 

 

Noting  Since its operation, the International Medical Complex in Luxor has provided more than 1.1 million medical services and performed more than 32 thousand surgical operations, including 63% major and advanced surgeries, which confirms its readiness as a reference center for the governorate and the governorates of Upper Egypt. The advanced infrastructure of the complex provided a medical environment capable of receiving the most difficult and complex cases, as the operation took place within a precise coordination system between the secondary and tertiary care administration, headed by Dr. Arafa Al-Hawari and his deputy, Dr. Amal Youssef, the International Medical Complex administration, headed by Dr. Muhammad Al-Aqabi, and the Cardiothoracic Surgery Department, headed by Dr. Muhammad Abdel-Bari.

 

While the medical team carrying out the operation included an elite group of highly specialized personnel led by Dr. Muhammad Abdel Bari, Dr. Muhammad Raafat Rustom, Dr. Mohamed Al-Sayed Mohamed Omar, Dr. Mohamed Abdel Moati, Dr. Abanoub Bahaa, Dr. Ayman Abdel Khaleq, Makari Rizk, M. Tawfiq Kamel.

 

A specialized nursing team also participated, including Ahmed Mahmoud, Ahmed Khair, Ramadan Adel, Ayat Saadi Hafni, Laila Abdel Jalil, Samir Ahmed Abdel Baqi, Eid Saad Mahmoud, Nursing Assistant Ayman Abu Al-Fadl, and Nursing Assistant Hassan Hassan Hussein, which reflects the Authority’s possession of medical teams capable of implementing highly precise interventions efficiently.
