Health oversight gets accreditation "ESCWA" Guide to standards for accreditation of physical therapy centers

The General Authority for Health Accreditation and Control announced “GAHAR” About obtaining a guide to accreditation standards for physical therapy centers – The 2025 edition of the International Society for Healthcare Quality (ISQua EEA) accreditation An international conformity rate of 99.2%, following an independent evaluation by the association’s international experts, provided that the accreditation is valid for the period from December 2025 to December 2029.
In this context, Dr. Ahmed Taha, President of the General Authority for Health Accreditation and Control, expressed his great pride in this international achievement, stressing that the adoption of the Standards Guide for Physical Therapy Centers represents a qualitative and important step towards improving the quality of physical therapy services, in a way that enhances patients’ ability to Restoring their health functions, and ensuring their feeling of safety and confidence in the level and quality of service provided to them.
The Chairman of the Authority explained that GAHAR is committed to adopting a comprehensive approach that puts the patient at the top of priorities, through continuous development of standards and periodic review of regulatory evidence, relying on the latest scientific practices and international evidence, and in cooperation with an elite group of experts and specialists.
Dr. Ahmed Taha added that the guide to standards for accreditation of physical therapy centers “2025–2029” It aims to establish an advanced level of quality in physical therapy services, in line with international best practices, and guarantees every patient a safe and effective treatment experience, within a unified scientific framework that contributes to reducing medical errors, improving therapeutic results, and enhancing the efficiency of professional performance.
Dr. Ahmed Taha, Chairman of the Authority, stressed that physical therapy is one of the basic pillars in the path of recovery and functional rehabilitation, Due to its direct reliance on accurate clinical evaluation, continuous therapeutic interventions, and daily interaction between the patient and the service provider, which requires the presence of specialized and precise quality standards that regulate practice, control evaluation procedures, treatment plans, and follow-up of results, ensuring the achievement of the best therapeutic outcomes with the highest levels of safety. A series of notable international achievements in the field of developing health standards, and obtaining international accreditation for an integrated package of evidence, which included: accreditation of the Hospital Standards Guide – 2025 edition, adopting primary health care standards – Edition 2025, adopting the Medical Analysis Laboratories Standards Manual – The 2025 edition, and the adoption of the Guide for Standards for Convalescent Care Homes and Medical Hospitalization, in addition to the issuance of the National Guide for Medical Equipment for Hospitals, and the year concluded with the Guide for Accreditation of Physiotherapy Centers obtaining international accreditation from ISQua EEA.
Dr. Ahmed Taha stressed that these successive achievements reflect the authority’s firm commitment to applying the highest international standards for the quality of health care, and ensuring the provision of safe health services. And effective for citizens, in addition to establishing a culture of quality, and enhancing Egypt’s position regionally and globally in the field of accreditation of health facilities.
