Healthcare reviews its efforts during 6 years of health insurance

– 51 million family medicine services through 285 family medicine units and centers in 6 governorates

 

The Public Authority for Health Care announced the most prominent achievements of implementing the comprehensive health coverage system in the governorates of the first phase, coinciding with the celebration of the World Day for Universal Health Coverage, which comes this year under the slogan: “It is time to put an end to the burdensome cost of treatment.” On Our Shoulders!», which is a slogan that reflects a global trend that emphasizes the necessity of reducing the financial burden on citizens, and ensuring their right to obtain integrated health care without suffering or economic burdens.

Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabki, Chairman of the Health Care Authority and General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Project, confirmed that six years of continuous work in implementing the system resulted in the provision of more than 105 million medical and therapeutic services until 2025 within the six governorates of the first phase, which embodies the state’s commitment to providing services Safe and high-quality health care under the umbrella of comprehensive health insurance.

 

He explained that the six governorates that include the governorates of “Port Said, Luxor, Ismailia, South Sinai, Suez, and Aswan” It witnessed a significant expansion in the volume of medical and therapeutic services provided from the start of operation until 2025, with the total number of services reaching more than 105 million services, including medical, therapeutic, surgical and diagnostic services.

The statement indicated that the number of beneficiaries reached 6 million beneficiaries who obtain the system’s services through 328 facilities affiliated with the Authority in the governorates of the first phase, and the number of beneficiaries is scheduled to multiply three times with the implementation of the second phase of the comprehensive health insurance system, which includes The governorates of “Minya, Matrouh, Damietta, North Sinai, Kafr El-Sheikh”.

 

The authority added that family medicine facilities are considered the basic pillar of the system, and the first gateway for citizens to obtain health services, as these facilities provided more than 51 million family medicine services within the six governorates from the beginning of the implementation of comprehensive health insurance until 2025, through 285 medical units and centers. The family.

 

Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabki confirmed that the authority has succeeded in accrediting 300 medical facilities in accordance with the various accreditation standards issued by the General Authority for Health Accreditation and Control (GAHAR) and recognized by the international organization ISQua in the governorates of the first phase, equivalent to more than 91% of the total facilities affiliated with it so far, which reflects the quality of the health infrastructure and the level of services in the affiliated facilities. To the Authority.

 

The Chairman of the Health Care Authority confirmed that the slogan of this year’s World Universal Health Coverage Day: “It is time to put an end to the cost of treatment that burdens us!”, accurately embodies the essence of the comprehensive health insurance project as an essentially social and solidarity project, in which the state is committed to bearing the costs of treating those who are unable, in a way that supports social protection, achieves health justice, and reduces the financial burden on the family. Dr. Ahmed Al-Sabki added that the comprehensive health insurance system represents a practical translation of the Egyptian state’s vision of building a strong health system, based on sustainable financing, and ensuring the provision of integrated and continuous health care at international quality levels, stressing that the General Authority for Health Care is moving steadily towards maximizing the efficiency of the system and developing its services, in a way that enhances citizen confidence and consolidates Egypt’s position as a leading model regionally and internationally in implementing comprehensive health coverage policies, Achieving a better health future for every citizen under the umbrella of this promising national system.
