I’m a professional cleaner. These are the supermarket buys I swear by and those I’d never touch: ‘Dreadful’

A self-confessed ‘clean freak’ dubbed Australia’s ‘fastest cleaner’ has revealed the exact products he always picks up at Woolworths.

He also shared the ones he insists simply aren’t worth your time or money.

Jason Shipway, the CEO of Perth-based business Enhanced Cleaning and a home-care content creator with more than 67,000 Instagram followers, has built a loyal audience by sharing no-nonsense cleaning advice that actually works.

And according to him, while many homes might look clean at first glance, it’s the finer details that separate a quick tidy from a truly spotless space.

In a recent Instagram post, Jason lifted the lid on the affordable supermarket staples he relies on time and time again, and the surprising product category he avoids altogether.

Jason said one of the most underrated items in your cleaning arsenal is something you probably already have by the sink.

Fairy Original Washing Up Liquid ($5.50), he explained, isn’t just for dishes. By adding a tiny squirt to water in a spray bottle, it transforms into an easy, effective all-purpose cleaner.

‘It will last you forever and can also be used for the dishes – win-win,’ he wrote.

For tougher jobs, he still turns to what he calls an ‘old faithful’ in the form of Domestos Disinfectant Bleach ($6.60).

From toilets to mould and sinks, he said it’s a reliable staple that gets the job done.

When it comes to floors, Jason prefers a more natural option, praising Bosisto’s Floor Cleaner ($4.30) as ‘the ‘best’ thanks to its plant-based formula.

And if you want your home to smell as clean as it looks, he recommended adding a few drops of Pine O Clean Disinfectant ($9) to your mop bucket.

‘Your house will smell divine every time,’ he added.

It’s not just liquids that make the cut. Jason also said the right tools can completely change your results.

For sparkling appliances, he swears by Magic Stainless Steel Cleaner ($7.90), which he credits for making surfaces ‘shine like no other’.

Meanwhile, a simple squeegee ($4.50) is, in his words, a non-negotiable.

Instead of reaching for a standard glass cleaner though, he prefers a more unconventional option like Diggers Methylated Spirits ($5.80)

‘Use it after your showers to prevent mould and calcification,’ he advised – a small habit that can save hours of scrubbing later.

He’s also a fan of Dishmatic microfibre pads ($4.95), calling them ‘perfect for scrubbing showers and for dishes’, particularly for those without a dishwasher.

And when it comes to everyday wiping, Sabco Microfibre Cloths ($5.99) get his tick of approval for being both durable and effective.

By simply adding a spray trigger to the bottle, he said you’ve got yourself an ‘amazing glass cleaner’ that leaves windows and mirrors streak-free.

For mould-prone areas he backed Selleys Mould Killer ($5.80), praising its formulation. According to Jason, the combination of sodium hypochlorite and sodium hydroxide makes it particularly effective at tackling stubborn mould

And for deep cleaning, he still reaches for a classic: Jif Cream Cleanser ($4.80), especially for stubborn stains.

‘Get the pink lily flower bottle if you can, that’s my favourite,’ he said.

Not all products get his tick of approval however, with cleaning expert saying Woolworths¿ mop range falls short, describing them as 'dreadful' and not worth your time or money

But it’s not all glowing reviews from the cleaning guru, who, despite Woolworths’ extensive range, said there’s one category he wouldn’t bother with at all.

‘I hate all the mops from Woolworths, not going to lie,’ he says bluntly.

‘They’re all dreadful – don’t waste your time or money on these.’

For Jason, effective cleaning isn’t about spending a fortune, but more focused on choosing the right products and using them smartly.

His approach focuses on multi-purpose items, simple hacks and small daily habits that prevent bigger problems down the track.
