In pictures: The Egyptian community continues to arrive in Riyadh to cast their votes in the parliamentary elections
The Egyptian Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, witnessed the influx of members of the Egyptian community to cast their votes in the second phase of the 2025 House of Representatives elections.
Throughout the morning hours, voters were keen to reach the embassy headquarters to participate in the electoral process, amid careful organization and facilities to ensure voters’ comfort and facilitate voting procedures.
The second phase of the House of Representatives elections will be held abroad over the course of Friday and Saturday, corresponding to the 21st and 22nd of November, inside 139 Egyptian embassies and consulates in 117 countries, while voting at home will begin on the 24th and 25th of this month, with the official result announced on the 2nd of next December. In the event of a need for a runoff, voting will take place abroad on the 15th and 16th of next December, and at home on the 17th and 18th of the month. The result of the runoff round will be announced on December 25th.
The committees supervising the polling, counting, and counting of votes shall be formed from a sufficient number of members of the diplomatic and consular corps, and they shall be assisted by one or more principal secretaries working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who shall be appointed by a decision from the National Authority. For the elections.
Voting abroad begins from nine in the morning until nine in the evening according to the time of the country in which voting is taking place, as set forth in the decision of the National Elections Authority regarding the procedural and timetable for the House of Representatives elections, provided that it includes an hour of rest determined by the Chairman of the Committee, without prejudice to ensuring the proper conduct of the electoral process. If voters in the Election Assembly are found – upon expiration of the period – who have not cast their votes, the Chairman of the Committee shall write a list of their names, and the process will continue. Election until they finish expressing their opinions.
