Copenhagen has been turning out great designers for years. Labels like Cecilie Bahnsen, Ganni and Solitude Studios have helped shape the city’s style identity, bringing Scandi style to the masses worldwide.
This season, Dazed teamed up with Ray-Ban to celebrate the scene properly. At the height of fashion week, we hosted a dinner with some of our favourite creatives from across the Nordics. The idea was simple: good food, good music and good people. Each guest brought a song with them, and over wine and pasta, those tracks became the soundtrack to the night. A quiet moment in the middle of the chaos. And a chance to spotlight the kind of talent that’s always been here.
Here’s what went down.
Tucked away in Frederiksberg, Bar Amore was the spot to be. Since opening in summer 2024, the Italian restaurant has quickly earned its place on Copenhagen’s must-visit list. As such, the exuberant, unforgettable dinner featured restaurant classics including linguine aglio, friggitelli saltati in padella, and olio e peperoncino, plus plenty of Campari Spritzes, Margaritas and Negronis to go around.
To top things off, the local multidisciplinary studio and concept store Tableu provided sculptural wildflower arrangements, while a Polaroid camera made its way around the room for guests to take selfies, and document fashion week friendships, new and old.
In a nod to the inseparable link with music and fashion that Ray-Ban helps cultivate, each guest was asked to send over a song before the dinner. The brief? Simply a track they couldn’t get out of their head, or a song that’s been getting them through fashion week. From there, a communal playlist was born, titled Sound of Fashion, which shaped the mood for the night. Think: Black Sabbath, followed by PinkPantheress, into Mk.gee, Q Lazzarus, Kendrick Lamar, and Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own”.
The invite list leaned Nordic, with a few international names thrown in, spanning designers, stylists, photographers, editors, DJs, and more. Hosted by Dazed’s Emma Davidson and Jack Sunnucks, the guestlist included (deep breath): designers including Astrid Andersen, Alectra Rothschild, Awa Malina Stelter, Oscar Gilantash, Yoko Maja Rahbek Hansen, Victor Juul, Julius Juul, Anna Myntekær, Josephine Bergqvist and Stephanie Gundelach; Photographers, Directors, Stylists Casting Directors and Movement Directors including Casper Sejersen, Joel Hördegard, Siri Edit Andersson Meyer, Hilda Sandström, Virgo Martinez, Caroline Clante, Emma Matell, Lotta Lavanti and Thea Carla Schott; Influencers including Louis James Powell, Daniela Contreiras, Yasmin Hero, David Vu, Charlotte Luisa, Chili Dia, Natalie Winter and Sally Javadi; DJs, Musicians and Models including Ceval, Aoife Louise Rosso, DJ LILLI, Giift and Pierre Rousseau; and others from across the fashion, arts and culture industry including Alana Hadid, Larni Kollander, Ella Dror, Haisam Mohammed, Sofia Rose Fazio Mineghino, Jeanie Annan-lewin, Lucy Maguire, Frederikke Brasch Nielsen, Eni Subair, Gilda Gilantash, and Kristian Kirk.
By the end of the night, the lines between dinner, dance party, and fashion week were truly blurred, with guests dancing on the tables and chairs. But for those who were not in attendance, worry not…
You might have missed the opportunity to dance alongside some of Nordic fashion’s most influential names, but you can still get a taste of the experience. Ray-Ban has collated all the Sound of Fashion songs into a public playlist. Listen above.
