Kmart’s most in-demand product of 2025 is making a secret comeback – but it’s far from a ‘budget buy’

A highly sought-after Kmart Australia household tech item has just been restocked in stores around the country – and it’s anticipated that it will once again sell out quickly.
A Digital Family calendar was launched in the mass retailer as a limited release during the 2025 Black Friday sales.
The 15.6-inch device, priced at $199, connects to Wi-Fi and can import and sync calendar events from Google Calendar, Outlook, iCloud, Cozi, and Yahoo.
When it first launched last year, the free-standing smart device was instantly heralded as a game changer for busy households, providing a clear and self-updating schedule of upcoming events.
Shoppers at the time predicted – rightly – that it would sell out within days of release.
But in welcome news for those who missed out last time, the retailer has just quietly returned the item to shelves, teasing the re-release this week in a Facebook post that instantly generated huge excitement among Kmart customers.
‘Omg, can’t wait for this- I missed out on the Black Friday sale!’ one person replied.
‘Finally, the digital family calendar. I have been waiting,’ another added.

The smart device, which syncs with Google Calendar, Outlook, iCloud, Cozi and Yahoo, is designed to keep every family member on the same page during the busiest time of year
Kmart has also launched a smaller and cheaper version of the E-Calendar, priced at $169. Unfortunately though, Kmart’s website listing for the smaller sized frame currently appears as ‘out of stock’
The device’s listing is now visible on the Kmart website, showing that it’s available to purchase both in store and online. Be sure to check the website first to see if it’s in stock at your local store.
Kmart is also now offering a smaller and more affordable version, with a 10-inch E-calendar priced at $169. It has mostly the same calendar features as the original version, though not the digital picture frame function. Unfortunately though, Kmart’s website listing for the smaller sized frame currently appears as ‘out of stock’ for both online and in store.
The lucky few who managed to get their hands on one of these digital calendars last year described it as ‘exactly what we’ve all been waiting for’, praising the convenient digital calendar for keeping every family member on the same schedule page.
For many Aussie households, this tech device replaced less effective, previously relied-on systems like messy whiteboards, scribbled sticky notes, and endless phone reminders.
When the Kmart digital calendar first dropped last November, Melbourne mum Tiffany Donaldson explained in a social media video that she’d been hunting for something like this for years.
‘I’ve been looking at the Skylight and the Amazon Echo displays but they’re quite pricey,’ she said on TikTok.
She explained that she stuck her new Kmart buy directly onto the fridge with magnetic strips, so she and her husband can view plans, update the kids’ chores, and organise the week ahead.
The device features day, week, and month views, colour-coded profiles for each family member, chore tracking, reward stars, meal planning, and grocery lists. The larger version also doubles as a digital photo frame when it’s not in use.

Shopper, Corinne Mayfair, said the new calendar is ‘a home organisation must-have’
The sleek touchscreen hub also sends photo messages, displays weather forecasts, allows grocery lists to be shared across devices, and updates automatically through the free eCalendar app.
It also comes with wall-mounting equipment and a stand, and 32GB storage.
‘For the price, this is really good,’ Tiffany added.
Another Aussie shopper, Corinne Mayfair, also shared her excitement over the new calendar in an online video, praising it as ‘a home organisation must-have’ and applauding Kmart for ‘doing it again’.
Aussie shoppers also expressed to Daily Mail just how much they had longed for a cheaper version of pricey high-end digital planners.
‘I’ve been searching for something like this for YEARS – finally someone made an affordable one,’ a shopper told the Daily Mail.
‘This is exactly what busy families need,’ another added. ‘I couldn’t afford to pay $600 for the same features elsewhere.’
