Kyle & Jackie O’s Former Boss Reckons They’re Donezo After On-Air Clash: ‘Drifting Apart’

A former 2DayFM boss has spoken on the state of the Kyle & Jackie O Show, as Jackie Henderson remains off-air for a second week following a spat with Kyle Sandilands.
The entire fiasco went down late last month, when Sandilands criticised Henderson live on-air over her “unworkable” “fixation” on astrology.
The argument prompted Henderson to take what was supposed to be one week off work as she “gathere[d] her thoughts”, but after being a no-show again this week, Craig Bruce has some thoughts.
Bruce — who worked with Henderson and Sandilands as a former program director at 2DayFM — said in a recent interview that the duo are “drifting apart”.
“It’s kind of understandable, they have been together now for close to 27 years,” Bruce told 10 NEWS+. “So they spent half their lives in a small room together.”
Going a step further, Bruce said he reckons the on-air clash and Henderson’s two-week hiatus might spell the end of the Kyle & Jackie O Show altogether. But where else will we listen to vulgarity in the wee hours of the morning?
“I think it probably is [the beginning of the end],” Bruce said. “I’m not sure that they’re going to get to the 10 year mark of their contract.”

Back in 2023, Henderson and Sandilands signed a deal worth a reported $200 million that, barring any astrology slander, will see them remain on-air until the end of 2034.
Sandilands addressed all the cancellation chatter on-air last week, after his own absence from an episode caused even more speculation the show was going kaput.
“I haven’t vanished, everyone,” he said upon his return. “According to the newspapers, The Kyle & Jackie O Show was over, and I vanished. It just goes to show you can never believe what you read in any of the newspapers.”
Before that, the shockjock expressed regret over his scolding of Henderson the week prior, saying he “shouldn’t have said it on the air” and that he “never meant to hurt her feelings”.
All of it stems from the viral moment that reduced Henderson to tears, after Sandilands accused her of being “off with the fairies” in terms of her “ridiculous” interest in astrology to the point of not “know[ing] what the fuck is going on all the time”.

Henderson fired back, saying she was “offended” by the comments and that they were “not fair” because she “would never say things like that about you”.
Sandilands insisted Henderson will be back on-air by next week, and I sincerely hope she reads him (and his birthchart) for filth.
