“Local Development” participates in the activities of the Fourth International Conference on Financing Development in Spain
The Ministry of Local Development participated in one of the Fourth International Conference on Development Finance, which was held in Seville, Spain, under the title & LDQUO; Unleashing mixed financing for sustainable and flexible urban development & rdquo; The session witnessed a high -level participation from international and regional organizations, most notably the United Nations Haples, the European Investment Bank, the Urban Development Fund in Egypt, and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, in the presence of a group of senior international officials and experts. Under the directives and follow -up of Dr. Manal Awad, Minister of Local Development, where the Ministry has made concrete achievements through the launch of a national initiative to enhance decentralization and enable local units to prepare and implement financing development projects, and to activate participatory planning systems, in addition to the use of geographic information systems (GIS) to determine the priorities of investment at the spatial level accurately and efficiently; The Ministry also developed, in cooperation with development partners, tools to measure the impact of projects and linking financing to realistic, measurable results. It is in line with the priorities of development in the governorates and the vision of Egypt 2030; Stressing that mixed financing has become an effective tool to accelerate the implementation of infrastructure and services projects, especially in the most needy cities and societies. Civil society, and the provision of a transparent and stimulating institutional environment for investment; This model helped improve the ability of the provinces to formulate strategic projects with an economic and social impact, and to achieve more fair distribution of investments between geographical areas.
