Melbourne Demons v Richmond Tigers scores; Anzac Day; results; fixtures; teams; tips; games; how to watch
Melbourne entered quarter-time with just a five-point lead over Richmond, thanks to Tim Taranto making the most of a late free kick to slot a goal after the siren.
After Ed Langdon’s game-opening goal, the Demons led disposals 41-13, contested possessions 13-4 and inside 50s 7-1, but the Tigers settled in after that.
Even then, a spectacular snap from Kade Chandler delivered Melbourne an 18-point buffer before No.1 draft pick Sam Lalor and Taranto both kicked goals from free kicks.
Langdon leads everyone with 10 disposals, while Trent Rivers and Xavier Lindsay each have nine, and Max Gawn has dominated the air.
Taranto has Jack Viney for company, but has eight touches along with his goal. Jayden Short and Nick Vlastuin are holding up well in defence for Richmond, Tom Lynch outpointed Steven May a couple of times, and debutant Campbell Gray took three marks, including a one-hander.
