Memorandum of understanding between "Theodor Bilharz" and"Jiangsu Institute" To enhance research into combating endemic diseases

In a new step that reflects the depth of scientific cooperation between Egypt and China, and strengthens the position of the Theodor Bilharz Research Institute as a leading center in endemic disease research, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Theodor Bilharz Research Institute and the Chinese Jiangsu Institute for Parasitic Diseases, aiming to expand areas of academic and research cooperation, through developing joint research programs, exchanging experiences, and intensifying efforts on both sides. In combating endemic diseases and parasites.

 

The signing took place between Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Director of the Theodor Bilharz Research Institute, and Professor Dr. Cao Jun, Director of the Jiangsu Institute, where the two sides affirmed their commitment to supporting scientific cooperation and exchanging experiences in areas of common interest, which contributes to the development of innovative research solutions to confront health challenges in countries.

 

This agreement is considered a new stage in the process of scientific cooperation between the two institutes, as it includes the launch of a joint research program to study endemic parasitic diseases, most notably schistosomiasis, in addition to exchanging researchers and organizing joint scientific workshops and conferences between the two sides in Egypt and China.

 

As the memorandum stipulates To encourage joint scientific publishing in international peer-reviewed journals, in a way that enhances the position of the two institutions in the global scientific research arena, and contributes to raising the efficiency of researchers on both sides.

 

This cooperation will be coordinated from the Egyptian side by Prof. Dr. Hajar Fathi Abdel Maqsoud, Assistant Professor in the Department of Parasitology and Head of the Center for Cooperation with the World Health Organization at the Theodor Bilhars Research Institute.

 

In this context, Professor Dr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz expressed his pride in signing this agreement, stressing that cooperation with the Jiangsu Institute represents a distinguished model of international research partnerships that serve human health and contribute to Developing the scientific research system in Egypt.

 

His Excellency indicated that this step comes within the vision of the Theodor Bilharz Institute, which aims to expand the network of international cooperation and exchange research expertise, which will reflect positively on the development of endemic disease research, pointing out that the agreement will provide promising opportunities for young researchers to acquire advanced scientific expertise and engage in projects
