Minister of Communications: Converting copper cables into optical fibers in Mansoura, first half of 2026
The Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Amr Talaat, said that all copper cables will be converted into optical fibers in Mansoura by the first half of 2026.
The minister added – during a press conference today, Saturday, on the sidelines of his visit to inspect a number of development and postal projects in Mansoura – that the conversion of all copper cables into optical fibers will be circulated throughout the republic until the coming years, with the aim of strengthening the infrastructure of the communications sector, delivering services to a larger number of citizens, and eliminating… Waiting lists.
He pointed to the completion of doubling the mobile towers from 1,300 to 3,000, with the aim of reaching global rates of 50,000 towers, while the current total reaches 35,000 towers.
