Minister of Health: A complete vision for developing the psychiatric hospital and accelerating construction "Victory" With sweetness
Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development Affairs and Minister of Health and Population, directed the preparation of a comprehensive vision for the development of the Mental Health Hospital in Helwan, and the formation of an engineering committee to evaluate one of the buildings located within the hospital’s administrative campus. The directives came during a field tour conducted by Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar to a number of medical facilities in the city of Helwan; To follow up on the progress of work and determine the level of services provided to citizens.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, explained that the mental health hospital in Helwan is located on an area of 120 thousand square meters, and serves the residents of the region with a capacity of 163 beds, with an average monthly frequency of 4,500 cases, and an occupancy rate of about 60%.
It includes specialized departments that include: adolescent psychiatric (15 beds), adolescent addiction – detox (8 beds), addiction rehabilitation (12 beds), free for women (24 beds), free for men (20 beds), economic for men (42 beds), emergency for women (15 beds), and emergency for men divided into two sections (28 beds).
It also includes outpatient clinics specializing in adolescent addiction (hotline), trauma treatment for adults and children, women’s health, disability cards, people of determination, in addition to morning and evening addiction clinics.
The Community Medicine and Rehabilitation Unit provides home visiting services, occupational therapy, and recreational and awareness-raising activities to rehabilitate patients and reintegrate them into society. Society.
In the same context, the Minister inspected the construction work of the new building of Al-Nasr Hospital in Helwan, and directed that the construction work be quickly completed and the hospital be delivered on the specified dates.
The new building consists of a basement, a ground floor, and 7 additional floors on an area of 48 thousand square meters, with a total capacity of 396 beds.
The spokesman noted The official statement indicates that the new hospital will include 19 operating rooms, 33 emergency beds, 220 inpatient beds, 89 intensive care beds, 11 nursery beds, 18 dialysis machines, and 25 beds for treating oncology and blood diseases, in addition to endoscopy units, radiology, laboratories, specialized care for the brain, nerves, and heart, training halls, and all logistical services.

The current hospital operates with 203 beds, receives about 300 emergency cases daily, and offers delicate specialties including neurosurgery, oncology, obstetrics and gynecology, urology, pediatrics, orthopedics, and others, with intensive care (35 beds) and nurseries for premature infants.

The center serves about 6,000 cases per month, and provides vaccination services, family planning, follow-up of pregnant women and children, dental clinics, and presidential initiatives.
